1. Who We Are

PeekPilot provides website uptime and SSL monitoring services. Our website is peekpilot.com. For privacy questions, contact us at we@peekpilot.com.

2. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address, a bcrypt-hashed password (we never see the plaintext), and an optional brand name. When you add monitors, we store the URLs you monitor and the results of uptime and SSL certificate checks (HTTP status codes, response times, certificate expiry dates, and error messages).

We also collect IP addresses in server logs for security and rate-limiting purposes. These logs are rotated and not used for tracking.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to provide the PeekPilot service: sending alerts when your sites experience downtime, displaying your monitoring dashboard, generating public status pages, and delivering summary reports. We do not sell, rent, share, or monetize your personal data in any way.

4. Third-Party Services

Payment processing: Payments for paid plans are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor. Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your payment information according to their own privacy policy. PeekPilot never receives or stores your credit card details.

Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data (page views, session duration). You can opt out using Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Email delivery: Transactional emails (alerts, reports, verification) are sent via our hosting provider's mail server. No third-party email service is used.

5. Data Storage & Security

All account and monitoring data is stored in a local SQLite database on our server. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (cost factor 12). We never store plaintext passwords. Authentication uses JWT tokens stored in HTTP-only cookies. Our website is served over HTTPS with HSTS enabled.

6. Cookies

We use two strictly necessary cookies: an HTTP-only session cookie (peekpilot_token) to keep you signed in, and a preview access cookie when the site is in pre-launch mode. Neither cookie is used for tracking or advertising. No third-party cookies are set by PeekPilot. Google Analytics uses its own first-party cookies for anonymous measurement.

7. Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. Monitors, incidents, and alert history are retained indefinitely to provide historical reporting. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing we@peekpilot.com. We will respond within 48 hours and complete deletion within 7 days.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You may request a copy of all data associated with your account at any time. To exercise these rights, email we@peekpilot.com. We do not engage in automated decision-making or profiling.

9. Children's Privacy

PeekPilot is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Policy Updates

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. The latest version will always be available at this page.
